A Perfect Gift: The Best iPhone, iPad, iPod touch App For Students Is Cheap

Wednesday, December 5, 2012 | Wil Gomez Posted In iOS Apps

iStudiez ProMy work schedule is such that I’m able to take a few university classes while working towards my Master’s degree.

It’s tough sledding to balance work, personal life, and college classes with homework assignments, research papers, and the like. What do many of my classmates use to keep it all together? Yes, there’s an app for that.

iStudiez, Therefore, I Am

To be honest about it, I thought I could keep track of everything on my iPhone or iPad simply by using Calendar and Notability, my favorite notes apps.

Uh uh. Sometimes you need the tool that’s best for the job. A few of my smarter classmates use iStudiez Pro, so I added that to my iPhone and iPad.

What does it do? Think of it as a day planner calendar but for students or teachers (or, control freak parents).

The built-in planner gives you access to whatever classroom schedule you have, including rotating classes, or simple block schedules.

Add information about the class, the instructors, or anything that applies, including class hours, phone numbers, locations and more.

Homework? It’s covered.

iStudiez Today and Schedule

iStudiez Pro has a dedicated section to track homework and assignments by date, course, priority or whatever.

Once you setup the schedule classes and tasks automatically display in the Today view.

Events, tasks, assignments, locations, instructor, and everything else you need to know at a glance.

There’s an option to track your grades on assignments and classes, and a built-in GPA calculator which works on current and past semesters.

Like Reminders or Calendar in iOS, iStudiez Pro gives you notifications and alarms, and even separate alarms for classes vs. homework. It integrates with iCal and syncs up data between devices using free Cloud Sync.

This is really a sweet app for serious students and at less than $3 it’s a good gift for high school students, college students, even teachers.
