Bored With Your Environment? Fix It With The Environment Enhancer App

Friday, December 7, 2012 | Jack D. Miller Posted In Tips and Tricks

AmbianceWe live in a fast paced, anything goes, I-want-it-now society. Love it or hate it, there’s only one way to change your environment.

Change. Nothing improves without change. So, if you’re bored with what’s going on around you, get out, and move on. Or, suffer. Or, add Ambiance to your Mac, settle down and relax in a new audio environment.

2,500 Free Audio Ambiances

Whether you’re browsing the web, churning through a day of email, working on a complicated document or intricate spreadsheet, or deep into graphic design, ambiance can improve what you do.

Ambiance the app isn’t free (but it doesn’t cost much) but it comes with over 2,500 different ambiance exclusive sounds that can be custom mixed and match just for you.

The Ambiance Mini Mode puts the app out of the way while you continue with serious work.

Use your Mac to fall asleep to a special blend of Ambiance-enhanced sounds that soothe your irritated soul and then gently fade off as you fade out of consciousness.

Cycle Mode is like a playlist of ambiance. If there’s different strokes for different folks, then there’s different sounds for whatever mood ails you at the moment.

Ambiance is not just about sound. It’s also about images.

Ambiance

There are free images which accompany every sound (some match the sounds, a few do not). Browse for more sounds in the Ambiance Sound Store.

The built-in player timer can be set to found out sounds while you nap.

Gotta run while Ambiance is mid-mood? No problemo, amigo. Ambiance remembers what you were listening to when you left and starts up at the same place later.

The first view of Ambiance is that it’s somehow strangely familiar. It looks and feels like iTunes for background sounds.

Sounds can be searched for and rated. There’s Play, Pause, Previous, Next, Shuffle.

All the sounds in the Ambiance library can be downloaded and stored on your Mac for use when you’re not connected. Connect your Mac to a home entertainment system or AirPlay through Airport Express or Apple TV, and everyone in the room can enjoy your mood music.

Ambiance is fun, but different, and very well done.

About Jack D. Miller

I work for a US technology company in Paris, France and switched from Windows PCs to the Mac 12 years ago. My wife said it would improve our marriage, give us more friends, and reduce stress. I guess that two out of three isn't bad.
