An Idea Whose Time Has Come: A Mac, iPhone, iPad Journal For Evernote That You’ll Love To Use

Tuesday, February 19, 2013 | Jack D. Miller Posted In Tips and Tricks

vJournalOne of my absolute favorite apps is Evernote. It’s whatever you want to save, everywhere you want it. Mac, iPhone, iPad, Android or Windows.

This is how a cloud app should operate and plenty of clever app developers are figuring out ways to connect to Evernote’s ubiquitous online nature. How about using Evernote as a journal? Yes, there’s an app for that.

Mac To Evernote Journal

If your life is worth living, then it’s worth keeping a journal of your more notable moments on planet earth. What does that have to do with Evernote?

Evernote is an online, cloud-based notes system which, once you start using it, becomes indispensable.

It’s handy and free and apps to use Evernote are everywhere.

How can you turn Evernote into a journal? vJournal does the trick. It’s a Mac app that becomes your personal journal but uses Evernote as storage.

vJournal lives in the Mac’s Menubar so you’re one click away to journalize a moment and have it added to your cloud journal.

vJournal

Slick and simple, right?

Click the Menubar icon to begin a journal entry, or click and select settings.

There’s not much to learn, either. You won’t have to figure out which font to use, or which notebook to put your journal entry into.

vJournal handles all that for you.

There’s no onscreen clutter, no floating app window to find, and once installed, no settings to worry about.

vJournal also has an iOS version for iPad and iPhone, so you can create a note of the moment wherever you are, and it all gets saved to your Evernote account.

This is a drop dead simple way to collect your thoughts, record an event, or ruminate about why your boss is such a jerk, and you’d be better off working somewhere else.

And, it all stays on Evernote, out of sight, but ready to read whenever you want and from whichever device you have at the moment.

About Jack D. Miller

I work for a US technology company in Paris, France and switched from Windows PCs to the Mac 12 years ago. My wife said it would improve our marriage, give us more friends, and reduce stress. I guess that two out of three isn't bad. Read more of my articles here.
