Forget All Those Apps That Sync This Or That From Mac To iPhone: You Need AirStickies!

Thursday, February 21, 2013 | Alexis Kayhill Posted In Tips and Tricks

AirStickiesIf the Apple Store had a weekly 12-step AA-like meeting for Stickies users, I’d be there.

I have task manager apps. Todo list apps. A daily planner app, too.

My favorite little reminder app is Stickies. It’s free. It’s easy. And now there’s a way to network and sync Stickies notes from Mac to iPhone.

I’m Alex. I’m A Stickies User

If confession is good for the soul, and if it’s listed on the 12 steps programs for recovering Stickies users, I’m ready. Point me in the right direction.

Sigh. Just when I thought I could dump Stickies along comes a Mac app which makes Stickies even more valuable.

AirStickies. All it does is perpetuate your usage of Stickies by effortless, behind-the-scenes, over the network synchronization of Stickies between Mac and iPhone.

Enter the magic synchronization number into your Mac, and whamo bammo, your Stickies have a new and highly mobile home on your iPhone.

Here’s how it works and what it looks like.

AirStickies

Your Mac’s Stickies show up on the iPhone.

Great, right?

Well, almost. AirStickies costs a couple of bucks. That in and of itself is not a big deal if it works as advertised.

And, it does work. It just doesn’t work the way you want.

AirStickies advertises itself as ‘confidential sync with your phone.’ Confidential? That’s marketing speak for, ‘doesn’t use iCloud or Dropbox‘ or, ‘Wi-Fi connection on local network only.’

That’s a bummer and could be a showstopper for some. Wi-Fi sync from device to device? How quaint. To the developers; add iCloud sync and I’ll give AirStickies more stars.
