About Mac360

Mac ClassicMac360 originated on a sunflower iMac in early 2004 using a beta version of ExpressionEngine, the same content management system once used by many Mac sites.

Mac360’s original founder, Tera Jean Patricks blogged about Macs for a few months and coerced enlisted the help of a few friends to run her new site and go beyond personal blogging. That help included me, Alexis Kayhill, Ron McElfresh, and a few other friends and friends of friends.

Tera wanted Mac360 to be about Mac applications with reviews and commentary, and a Mac user forum.

Since early 2004 that’s been our goal.

Sadly, Tera died in the summer of 2006 after a long illness.

Mac360 carries on the tradition of Mac app reviews with an experienced, knowledgable, and informative staff of Mac professionals.

Alexis Kayhill

Alex is a Mac user who lives with her husband and three daughters in sunny San Diego. She is dubbed the Value Vixen™ for her ability to find the least expensive Mac software.

That means she’s cheap. Or, rather she prefers value software.

Ron McElfresh

The first Mac360 site was hosted on Ron’s original sunflower iMac in Hawaii. He’s our personal Mac system administrator and writing coach.

Ron develops content for web sites which use dynamic content management systems, such as the popular ExpressionEngine and WordPress. His personal sites include NoodleMac and McSolo.

Barbara Marie “Bambi” Brannan

That’s me. I live with my husband in San Francisco and work in public relations. I travel plenty. I cook often. I eat what’s on my plate. And, I talk about anything, everything, anytime, to anyone.

You’ll find more information about all of us—Alexis, Bambi, Ron, Tera and friends, as well as more history about Mac360 in the old About section. You gotta love FAQs, right?

All of us at Mac360 have used Macs for over 15 years. Each. Except Ron. He’s used Macs since 1984, which is over 25 years of Mac experience. Do the math. He’s old.

Kate MacKenzie

‘Kate Mac’ is a long time friend and for a few years was Mac360’s Queen of Spice™. She loves to skewer ill informed technomedia journalists. Actually, all of us at Mac360 love to do that. Kate went to the Dark Side™ in 2008 and bought a PC running Windows Vista.

In less than a year she had returned to the Mac.

Once you go Mac, you don’t go back.

Kate’s Pixobebo site is all about Apple, the Mac, iPhone, and poking fun at self proclaimed technology pundits.

Wait! There’s more.

Contributing Writers

From time to time we receive and publish articles about Mac software from other writers. That includes Jack and Carol Miller, formerly of St. Louis, MO, who now live in Paris, France. We’ve also published timely Mac oriented articles from Jeffrey Mincey of Atlanta, GA, Wil Gomez of Brooklyn, NY, and Natalia and Nathan Nowak of Chicago, IL—all Mac users with many years of experience.

Mac360 Today

Mac360 continues to provide Mac users with software reviews of a unique perspective, as well as timely and appropriate Apple and Mac commentary.

We’re all about the Mac.
