Also, even if Safari were to save certain states—and I DO like this idea—it wouldn’t likely save text posted in a form. Take this forum itself as an example. Suppose you are cycling through your open apps via command-tab and quitting a few of them when to your dismay you accidentally quit Safari when you didn’t mean to do so. And suppose you have a lot of text entered into a form—not unlike those when composing posts in this forum. Even if Safari remembers all your open web sites from the previous state, it very likely will not capture all text you had entered—and this will still be lost.

No reason for it to be. Hit the back button after you post something. The entered text remains.

I’m not opposed to it certainly, but I suspect if Apple implements the confirm on quit, it will be all or nothing.
