Clickable Bliss On Your Mac. The Name Says It All.

What’s in a product name? iPod sounds cute and easy to manage. The Mac is personable. Widgets are handy.

What would you expect from a Mac developer called Clickable Bliss? I thought so, too.

Their first product is out and it’s cool. Why not call it Clickable Billable? Or, Click Bills? Or, Click Cash?

When you start with Clickable Bliss, all you can do is bore people with a product name.

So it is with Billable, Clickable’s blissfully attractive and competent invoice tracker.

What most of us like about the Mac is that it’s personal, but doesn’t get in the way (too often) of getting things done.

The same holds true of Mac applications and utilities. We just want them to do what they do, do it well, and always be there.

Assume you do a little work here and there on the side, create and send out invoices, and need to track what’s going on.

You could buy Intuit’s QuickBooks and take a couple of semesters at a junior college to figure out how to use it.

You could stuff everything into a shoebox and hand it to a bookkeeper fresh out of junior college.

Neither is as much fun as telling your friends that you own something from Clickable Bliss and they should check it out.

We’ve reviewed a few invoice applications at Mac360. Our favorite is OfficeTime. High on our list is Billable.

I don’t think there’s an easier, simpler, more elegant way to keep track of clients, create time-based services, set up a fee structure, and print out an invoice.

The Bliss in Clickable refers to what many of us feel about our Macs and some Mac applications. They just feel good when we use them. It’s bliss.

Billable has a certain simplicity to the simple layout and flow, yet has an elegance that belies a relatively new product for the Mac.

Features are not sparse, but not burdening. In other words, you can click around and figure out what to do first, what to do next.

There’s a built-in timer which you need to track your efforts on a given job. Import clients and information from Address Book.

Your services usually have an hourly rate and that’s easy to set up in Billable.

Creating flat fee services is a handy component. Set them up, then simply click what work you performed for a client, and generate an invoice.

You’re not stuck with the math that Billable generates, either. Edit everything, including due date, partial payments, optional messaages, and so on.

You also don’t want an invoice to look exactly like everyone else’s invoice, and Billable comes through with a customizable HTML template which is used to generate the invoices.

Billable bills itself as simple service and invoice tracking. The bliss is what you feel when you’re done doing what you did and have an invoice ready to collect on what was done.

Adding to the bliss is a special limited time discount. Money and bliss. What else could you want for your efforts?
