Google Buys YouTube: Mac360 Celebrates.

YouTube MacTo the suprise of no one except Microsoft, Google bought YouTube.

Google’s CEO is on Apple’s board of directors. What’s all this news mean for Mac users? Stay tuned.

At Mac360, we talk about living in exciting times. The Google of online video sites, YouTube, is being purchased by Google.

The implications are staggering. If we knew what they were, they’d probably still be staggering.

$1.65-billion in stock gets Google a video site that looks like it was made by Google.

There’s little doubt that that the owners of YouTube were growing as rapidly as possible to find a sugar daddy with loads of cash and value.

Google has both but only gave up stock to acquire YouTube. Still, that’s a healthy liquidation event.

What’s the YouTube purchase mean for Mac users? It means a thickening plot.

Apple recently appointed Google’s CEO, Eric Schmidt, to Apple’s board of directors.

Read into that all the speculative dreams you may—hot, wet, secretive, public. Google remains an online content king.

What of Apple and the Mac? We don’t know, but we don’t think it’s bad for Apple.

After all, Microsoft seems to loathe, even hate, Google. For Google and Apple, the enemy of my enemy is my friend.

As part of the Google-YouTube conglomeration, Mac360 features YouTube Week.

Each day this week we’ll find and deliver to Mac360 readers an old or new video from YouTube.

The first installment will prove to be a classic as “I’m a PC” tries his hand at making a movie on a PC.

When you spot a great YouTube video about Apple, Macs, iPods, Microsoft, computers or whatever you think Mac360 readers will enjoy, drop us a note.
