Not necessarily in that order. I use my Mac to search, explore, find, compare, and collect recipes. If it has to do with food and my Mac, I’ve been there and done that.

Behold yet another way to grab recipes, and, as a final treat, Alexis’ Top 9 Sites for Tasty Recipes.

My Mac has more recipes and menus and food applications than Carter has little liver pills (whatever those are). If it’s got anything to do with food, then I’ve got it on my Mac.

Anyone can manage recipes these days. Yummy Soup is superb at keeping track of what you need for a taste orgy of delights, straight from the pantry and fridge.

MacGourmet is to me what Sears’ hardware department is to my husband, only better. Dine out? Sure, I dine out, but I’d rather dine in and make sure I know whose hands have touched my veggies.

You’d think, because I espouse my love for food but only between bites, that I would weigh a ton or two or three. Not so. Why? I eat carefully and use my Mac to track what I eat before I eat it and after I’m done eating.

Where does a busy mommy of three come up with all the recipes that are so good they keep my husband reigned in and my children smiling and happy? Sure, YummySoup and MacGourmet have their recipes, but, look, it’s the internet age. Use it or lose it.

For recipe collectors and wannabe chef-du-neighborhood, Recipe4All is a good place to know. I want a place with thousands of recipes from all over the world, not just Southern California, or the three square miles surrounding my local Walmart.

Recipe4All collects recipes from everywhere in the world and stores them in a database. For Mac and Windows users, there’s a simple search utility which you can download to run on your computer.

Mac users will love Recipe4Mac because it’s an elegant way to search through thousands of recipes in just minutes. Think of it as Safari with a taste for food instead of web sites which tell you how bad the economy is.

Recipe4Mac lets you search by using specific keywords, or by geography, as in by country. And you can search based on ingredients. In other words, check the fridge, check the cabinets, check the pantry first.

Whatever you’ve got in house at the moment can be tracked down in Recipe4Mac to get your a recipe that matches your ingredients. How cool is that?

Did I mention there are recipes from around the world? Chinese, American, Mexican, African, Australian, Indian, Thai, European in many flavors, as well as specific country recipes.

For example, I like Thai food. There’s three pages of recipes available via Recipe4Mac. By comparison, tasty food from England is more difficult to find which may say something about my trip to London a few years ago BC. That’s before children.

The best food I had in London was a little Italian restaurant. Second best came from India. Fish and chips did make the Top 10 List.

One of my favorite dine out experiences is at those little roadside restaurants. Make their magic come home with a visit to Innkeeper Recipes. Sure, the Food Network is a good site for food, but recipes, too.

My favorite is probably All Recipes which seems to have recipes beyond imagination. Maybe not all recipes, but it seems like it.
