Mac Poll: What’s Your Favorite Mac Of All Time?

MacsOne thing that differentiates Mac users from the PeeCee community at large is how we treat and feel about our Macs. They’re a member of the family for many of us. We may have fond memories of that original iMac.

We can all remember the first time we set up a hot new PowerMac. We’ve seen the looks on friend’s faces when we showed off a PowerBook.

Had an iBook that broke? We worried as if it were a family friend in need.

That’s the lot of many Mac users. Our Macs just sit there. And work. They perform for us like a trusty, well-bred, well-mannered dog. Not a cat. It won’t happen.

We all have our favorite Macs.

My first iMac (flat panel) still runs 24/7 as a staging server using OS X Server (Panther, of course). I’m waiting for Mac OS X Tiger to ship on Macs, then I’ll get a Mac mini.

Since then, I’ve had just about all of them. My original PowerBook was eventually replaced by a couple of iBooks, then a 17” PowerBook.

PowerMacs? I’ve had my share. My favorite? For me, my favorite Mac is the one I’m waiting to pick up at the Apple Store; the next Mac.

Frankly, I think we’ll see an upgrade in the PowerMac line by mid-April at the NAB Convention, or certainly by June with Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference.

There might even be another Mac introduced this year. How about an iBook mini? I’d go for that.
