Here’s my Top 5 Web Sites for Mac Users (with a few alternates and honorable mentions that are nearly as good):
Funniest Mac Site: Hands down, it’s AppleTurns.
This site often provides three daily updates of comedic relief on all things Apple and Mac. It’s been around awhile but the writing is fresh and on-the-nose accurate; with a more-than-slight bias toward Macs and against Windows and Microsoft.
No one jabs at Microsoft and Windows sympathizers better than AtAT.
Most Useful Mac Site(s): Keeping up to date with application changes is a challenge unless you visit VersionTracker.
Whatever Mac applications are new or updated, they’ll show up soon on VersionTracker. One click and you can download the latest version, the latest updaters, or, try out hot new shareware. VersionTracker gets updated many times during the day so there’s a need for multiple daily visits.
Honorable Mention goes to MacUpdate. MacUpdate allows you to download listed files and updates with only one click (less ads), but the layout seems more sparse.
Top Mac News Site: Honors go to MacMinute by a good margin over MacCentral.
All the latest news releases about Macs, Apple, applications, and anything that affects the Mac world or Mac user will show up in either of these two sites, Monday through Friday (sometimes on weekends, when something worthy happens).
MacMinute is probably the best Mac online publication for getting you a daily dose of what’s happening in the Mac world. It’s simple, elegantly laid out, and has an RSS feed which works well in most RSS/XML aggregators.
