Need Templates For Mail? Take A Look At MailTemplate.

MailIf you’re looking for an add-on to Mail that does bulk mail messages—one message to many recipients—keep looking.

MailTemplate solves a different problem. Sending similar but different messages to many different people.

One thing I like about utilities for the Mac is that someone always comes up with another way to solve an age-old problem. Bulk mail applications are a dime a dozen. Well, almost.

Those take one email message and send it to a gazillion recipients. Uh uh. That’s not what MailTemplate does, and once I figured it out, it became valuable, and fills a need not easily filled with a different utility.

Do you ever have a need to ‘customize’ an email message to a recipient, or to reply to an incoming mail. Instead of typing the same phrases over and over again, MailTemplate nearly ‘automates’ the job.

Installing MailTemplate is simple. Complete the download. Click the installer. Restart Mail.

At that point, MailTemplate is hidden and doesn’t do anything until you tell it. First, right click on any message (or click New to open a new message, then right click inside the message).

That brings up a contextual menu. At the bottom are the MailTemplate selections. It’s simple. Select MailTemplate, Open Template Editor.

The Editor lets you create the Templates. It’s perfect for sending a response to incoming email. Instead of typing in the response, or cut and paste from a Word document or TextEdit document that has a list of responses, simple select a Template.

It’s automatically added to the reply message. It’s that simple.

Create as many Templates as you need, depending on the messages you need to send. The Templates can be rearranged, too.

You can also add attachments directly to the Template which is automatically added to the outgoing message. Think of it this way: you save bunches of time.

Instead of having to re-type the same response, or cut and paste a response, you can click and click and the response is inserted automatically.

Instead of having to click Attachment within a message, hunt for the attachment, and place it in the Mail message, the attachment can be inserted with the Template message.

If you’ve done ‘mail merge’ in other applications, such as Microsoft Word, you’ll love being able to personalize the outgoing Template message. Slick.

$15.00 gets you a nifty utility application for your Mac that could save you many man hours each year.

Installation is simple and straightforward, MailTemplate worked the first time out and still works.

The only thing missing is the ability to “insert” multiple Template components (instead of a whole message at once). That way, it would be easy to compose a special customer support message depending on what the incoming message content was.

Of course, that’s a feature found in much more expensive applications, but still…

Better yet, you can try out MailTemplate when you Click Here.
