Playboy’s Soft Porn Is Now ‘Playboy Bodcasts’ For iPod.

Playboy What the iPod with video does is set a standard for distribution of video; movies, TV shows, educational and travel shows, Podcasting with video, and pornography.

Playboy.com takes soft porn one step ahead of the competition by introducing ‘Bodcasting’ and the ‘Playboy Bodcast’.

From Playboy.com’s Press Release: “Playboy.com introduces its own sexy spin on the popular podcasting craze with its new “Playboy Bodcast.” The “Playboy Bodcast” enables high-tech consumers to take Playboy on-the-go by offering online features that can be downloaded directly to portable players like Apple’s new iPod Video.”

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so a video with beautiful babes must be worth a gazillion ga ga’s.

This kind of video cannot come as a surprise to anyone, including Apple. While there may not be a XXX-rated section on the iTunes Music Store any time soon, there doesn’t have to be.

It’s remarkably easy for purveyors of porn to offer simple download services that automatically open iTunes and allow for storage of the latest porn video. The user just has to click to make it happen.

Playboy.com’s editor, John D. Thomas, said, “Playboy.com continues to extend its online consumer base by embracing emerging technologies and creating products that reach people when they want it, how they want it and on the device they want it.”

And want it they do. The popular SuicideGirls web site reported over one million downloads of their girls in iPod video format.

What does Playboy do that’s so different? First, Playboy says they’ll update the content every weekday. The ‘Bodcast’ will include a Joke of the Day from a popular Playboy model.

There will also be daily wit and wisdom from Hugh Hefner in ‘Ask Hef Anything.’

Obviously, Playboy’s founder gets in the act, pajamas and all. Let’s see if he changes his pajamas every day.

Need advice on women? Playboy delivers ‘From The Mouths Of Babes’ a simple video advice column from Playboy’s sexy and popular CyberGirls.

This is the candy that leads to more expensive candy as Playboy also announced plans to introduce sexier, steamier, less-clad, premium ‘Playboy Bodcasts’ in the future.

That’s ‘Premium’ as in, ‘you’ll pay more money for these Playboy bunnies…’.

The way it works is simple enough. Click to Playboy.com, find the Playboy Bodcast, enter an email address to get the appropriate download URL (Playboy collects email addresses), then download and oogle.

What could be easier?

We’ve already seen warnings from religious leaders and conservative parents warning against the dangers the iPod with video may represent for a younger audience, and some concerns are certainly valid.

Just as noteworthy are some of the explicit lyrics in pop songs of the past four or five years (check the charts on the iTunes Music Store). Parents concerned about the influence of the iPod would do well to check on the lyrical content of music, too.

There is a huge culture that exists just out of site, of which Playboy is merely one publishing icon. There are thousands of others. Playboy’s Bodcast is just the beginning. Caveat Emptor?
