Pull Random Ticket Drawings Without Tickets.

Necessity is the mother of invention. Find a need and fill it. Boldly go where no man has gone before.

You get the idea. TicketDrum lets you perform random drawings on your Mac. Prizes, raffles, bingo, and reports.

Every now and then we run into a Mac applicatin we wish we’d had just last week. In this case it’s TicketDrum from Mac360 reader Jack Beckman.

Simply put, TicketDrum is like the old fashioned container drums with tickets inside, except it works on your Mac.

TicketDrum dispenses with physical tickets, tokens, and even the drum, letting your Mac and point and click do all the work.

Actually, there’s not much work. TicketDrum creates tickets or tokens on the fly; numbered, named, email, alphanumeric, or from a contact list.

All the “tickets” or information gets stored in TicketDrum’s database, so you can re-use entries, or just keep a record of what happened.

Anything that requires a drawing can be handled by TicketDrum.

Need to do a door prize? Raffles? Bingo? Plain old drawing for a prize? That’s what TicketDrum does.

There’s no muss or fuss with physical tickets or tokens to worry about, as your Mac runs the ticket generating application (there’s also a Windows version).

Creating a drawing is rather straightforward. Launch TicketDrum, select either a “Live” drawing, or a “Prepared” drawing. Then select type of ticket or token.

For tickets, you can enter a starting number and an ending number. Drawing prizes can be entered, too, and may include a graphic of the prize.

When you draw a ticket, the winning number, name, email address or whatever is pulled, with options of Claimed or Unclaimed (pity the fool).

All the data entered into TicketDrum can be used again, which is great for organizations with member lists. Prize lists can also be imported and managed.

What’s interesting about TicketDrum is that it’s handy, useful, not too difficult to set up, fully cross platform, not expensive, and there’s nothing quite like it on the Mac.

There’s Easy Numbering, which lets you print serial numbers on tickets. There’s Lotto Tracker which allows you to track lottery tickets. Finally, there’s Numberator which also prints individual, non-reoccuring numbers on coupons or tickets.

But there’s nothing quite like TicketDrum on the Mac. Manage tickets, tokens, entry name lists, prizes, and generate reports. TicketDrum is a handy application for any organization which conducts a drawing.
