The Mac360 Store: iPods, Macs, Books, CDs, DVDs.

Store - AlexWe’re trying something new at Mac360. Join us in welcoming The Mac360 Store, now open for business on the internet.

OK, it’s not really our store. It’s really just Amazon, the folks you know and love and trust for books, DVDs, CDs, cameras, and iPods.

It’s also a shameless commercial plug to support Mac360. If you’re going to buy something from Amazon, please consider buying it through The Mac360 Store.

Why? We get a little credit. Amazon keeps track of all the numbers and Mac360 gets a few cents or dollars whenever you buy a product from Mac360’s version of Amazon’s online store.

Just remember to come to the Mac360 Store to start your Amazon search. Otherwise, what Amazon’s got, we’ve got. Except for all the clutter.

We chose to partner with Amazon because they’re good, they’re trustworthy, they’re priced right, and they sell plenty of Apple products.

The selection on Amazon is broad, quality is good, service is quick, and their selection of music CDs, movie DVDs, and books is excellent.

Do I even need to mention their discounts on Mac OS X Tiger (and Leopard, eventually), and their list of iPods, iMacs, and accessories?

There’s also this little thing about Mac360 needing the money. Why? Well, uh, um, why not? Money is good.

Seriously, since we do what we do on Mac360 is a labor of love, there’s still some expenses for server and bandwidth to deal with each month, and it’s growing.

Ron’s been footing the bill for our intenet connection, the bandwidth we use each month, and server hosting for quite awhile now.

Thanks to your participation, recommendations, and daily visits, Mac360’s reader base has grown, and so has to cost to operate the site.

Plus, we’re planning monthly contests and a little extra revenue here and there will cover the expense of prizes.

We’ll try to keep the Buy Here noise to a minimum, though we appreciate your participation. Did I say, “monthly contests?” Oops. I’m spilling the beans.

But just so you know, Bambi and Kate have prepared a monthly contest for Mac360 readers that’s loaded with goodies and prizes and bragging rights.

Take a moment to try out the Mac360 Store and give us some first impressions. With a little work, we’ll more fully integrate the store front into the Mac360 site.

That just means the store may eventually look nicer, and more personal than it does today. Consider the whole thing as nothing more than a doorway into Amazon—where they share their enormous wealth with the rest of us whenever you buy something.

Anything you buy from Amazon through the Mac360 Store gives Mac360 a little credit so we can afford to buy contest prizes.

Browse around. Check out the prices. We can add more categories but we figured that was enough to start.

Importantly, let us know what you think? Is the design acceptable? Is Amazon a good partner and do you buy from them?
