Top 17 Best Free Tools And Utilities For Your Mac.
We love Top 10 Lists, and we love free utilities and tools for our Macs. The problem is squeezing all the great free Mac software down to just 10. After trying really hard, 17 is close enough. They’re the best, they’re free, and they don’t include Firefox or Thunderbird. Yes, they’re free, they’re good, but everyone knows it so let me not clutter my list. Think of it as the letters R S T L N in Wheel of Fortune. Everyone starts with those letters, right? So, Firefox and Thunderbird, both good and free, won’t be on this list. These 17 are open source or free Mac applications that actually get used by yours truly. See which ones compare to what’s on your list of free Mac utilities.

Talk Back to Kate, Ron & the Mac360 staff Heymike says:
AppleJack does not work on 10.5 Leopard. This should be noted so that someone does not make their machine worse than is already was. Editor’s Note: Which is why we noted such for ‘Tiger’ users. — Posted on Mon May 26 at 8:45 am by Heymike
The Old Coot says:
ImageWell is’nt free anymore, but you would have known this if you had of researched the article before you posted it to the web. Editor’s Note: Don’t be snarkey. That’s why we noted both ImageWell and ImageTricks; comparable products. One is free, one used to be. — Posted on Mon May 26 at 8:06 am by The Old Coot
Ed B. says:
Nice list ... however ... Nvu hasn’t been supported in a while. The new and supported “Nvu” is now KompoZer - http://www.kompozer.net/ ImageWell is no longer Free. Still worth every dime. — Posted on Mon May 26 at 7:43 am by Ed B.
