A friend has sent you a link to the following article: http://mac360.com/index.php/mac360/comments/459/ What’s hot from Apple this holiday season? Everything new. New iMac as a Media Center, new iPods with video, new iTunes 6.0 with music videos from the iTunes Music Store. It looks as if Apple is in the ‘media center’ business with a new line of iMacs, video iPods with a wider screen, a new iTunes, new Mac applications, Music Videos, and TV programs from iTunes Music Store. So far, as of 11:12 AM PDT, we have Steve Jobs announcing a new iMac. It’s thinner, and sports a built-in iSight camera. The iMac also has a remote control, making the Mac the ‘digital hub’ for video, music, and photos. A new application for the Mac, called “Front Row,” provides a 10 foot range remote for Mac users to control music, video, photos. On screen text and graphics are enlarged for viewing at a distance. The remote control has six buttons, and is slim, similar to the iPod shuffle. Jobs compared the remote to Microsoft’s Media Center remote which has 40 buttons. The new iMac also includes another application called “Photobooth” which adds new “fun features” to photos. The new iMacs are priced at $1,299 for the 17-inch model, and $1,700 for the 20-inch model. CNet, Wall Street Journal, and Bloomberg News all report on the new video iPod. Steve Jobs said, ‘Yes, it does video.” The 30GB model will sell for $299 and $60GB model for $399, with a high resolution 2.5-inch color display. Both models are available in basic iPod white, basic iPod black, and can be ordered now from the Apple Store online. The iPod screen is QVGA at 320x240 pixels and provides H.264 support. Beta News has an unconfirmed report of a new version of iTunes. iTunes 6.0 which features the ability to play music videos. The iTunes Music Store has been updated with a selection of music videos at $1.99 each. Select television programs will also be available for download from iTMS. We’ll provide details as quickly as we obtain them from Apple’s ongoing ‘One more thing…’ event. Details? We don’t need no stinkin’ details!!
