A friend has sent you a link to the following article: http://mac360.com/index.php/mac360/comments/22/ Contribute works in conjunction with Dreamweaver to allow non-technical personnel to update pages without changing (damaging) other pages in a web site. Among the many updated features are a Reviews and Approvals process, new Enhanced Administration which allows for more detailed permissions and rolls. Integration with Dreamweaver MX 2004 has also improved. CSS functions are more extensive and easier to implement, template recognition has been updated, and there’s a new shared check-in/check-out system. Page lockout and rollback, two features requested by professional Dreamweaver users, are also included. Contribute also touts the ability to upgrade web documents with Macromedia’s FlashPaper 2, which can now convert documents to PDF format. Javascript and XML client extensibility layers are built in which allow for user interface customization in Contribute 3.0. Macromedia has a demonstration version which can be downloaded from the Macromedia web site. Contribute users can now insert and edit photos within web pages. This feature includes cropping, resizing, and editing. A more complete listing of features is available Here.. Macromedia is taking pre-orders for Contribute 3.0 for both Mac and Windows. I’ll work on a more complete, hands-on review later today.
