You gotta love the folks at Apple. Introduce something hot and make you wait.
As with all things Apple, many of us have waited for the new Cinema HD displays. The wait is over as Apple is shipping the 20" and 23" displays (only the 23" carries the HD label). Since I'm now forced to wait until the end of August to get the new dual 2.5 ghz G5, I decided to pick up the new 23" Cinema Display. How is it? Freakin' awesome...

Is "Hijack" the best name available for Audio Hijack? Well, that's what it does.
Have you ever wanted to record the output, in a digital format, of various Mac applications? Like iTunes, iMovie, QuickTime files, movie trailers, and so on? Besides the loss of quality, it's usually a pain to connect all the wires to another recording device or Mac. Audio Hijack Pro literally "hijacks" audio output and records it on your Mac. Is that a good thing?

Apple jerks customers around once again. And again. How much can we take?
story updated Way back in early June (so long ago I forget) I ordered Apple's new dual 2.5 ghz PowerMac; the new liquid cooled supercomputer. Apple said the new G5 would ship in July so I ordered right away. Apple said, "Wait." I waited. Now Apple says the new G5 will be delayed until the end of August.

The iMac lives on in the eMac. Simple. Graceful. A true workhorse for $799.
Yes, you can buy a PeeCee for $500. Sometimes less. Sometimes much more. Much more when you start to figure out what it'll cost you in the long run. Like, six months. Is there a Mac to match that low-end view of computering? So, you ask, "What Mac competes? What's it got? What'll it do? Where to get one? What else do I need?"
