Is the new iMac a computer bargain or simply all looks with no power?

AppleWorksIt's hard to believe, but AppleWorks has been around a dozen years or so. We've become so used to minor or no upgrades to AppleWorks that it seems like the last version came out 10 years ago. AppleWorks is unique, cross platform, a great set of tools, and long in the tooth. Full Story »

Report says Microsoft Music Store will have 600,000 songs, 99-cents each.
No surprise here. Rolling Stone magazine says Microsoft plans a September 2 launch of their long awaited Microsoft Music Store. Reports say the store will offer up to 700,000 song tracks; priced at 99-cents each. Rolling Stone is also saying that Microsoft contacted Apple about making songs compatible with the iPod. The Mac has plenty of FTP options. Some good, many not. Here's what I use.
FTPFTP: File Transfer Protocol. At one time, stand-alone FTP applications were used by everyone on the Internet to download files. FTP is built in to most browsers today.
