Forget tape, forget CDs, forget MP3s. The iPod is the new music system.
 Just as CDs, Windows, and hard drives became "standards", so it is now with Apple's diminutive iPod, ubiquitous iTunes, and accessible iTunes Music Store. There's no need to shop anywhere else for music, or use anything else for playback. iPod is the new music standard.

No death threats but plenty of chatter about "Apple Exploding" And Mozilla's Firefox.
 No doubt about it, the InBox stack this week was heavily weighted toward the article on "Apple: About to Explode?" Readers think the world of the Mac maker but want Apple to do more to "get the word out" about how great the new iMac is, and Mac OS X, and the iLife apps... you get the idea.

A cool upgrade for a favorite Internet utility; focused more on net news. Now. Neat.
 RSS is becoming more commonplace and mainstream and due for integration with Safari 2.0. It's here now and works great with this latest update. Ranchero Software's NetNewsWire 2.0 carries the torch with maturity.

Has it been a year since Stuffit's 8.0 version? Is this a "gotta have" upgrade or not?
 It's not, but it seems as if Stuffit's been around as long as the Mac. Allume Systems just released Stuffit 9.0. Yes, 9.0. I know what you're thinking? ANOTHER Stuffit upgrade. When will it end? It won't.

The giant iPod-like Mac finally arrived. We open the box, feel good, take it for a spin.
 That's the first thing I said when it came out of the box. "It looks like a friggin' giant iPod." No kidding. Pump up an iPod and you've got a new iMac G5. The resemblance is not without reason.

New York Times reports on MSN Music Store; Microsoft Admits Apple's iTunes Is The Best.
 You're probably thinking, "What's all the fuss about? Microsoft copies Apple? How's that news?" I agree, but it's a slow news day and mainstream media just figured it out and Microsoft just admitted it. iTunes Music Store rocks.
