Widgets are pure eye candy. Here's my list of the sweet and sour.
 Mac OS X Tiger has plenty of goodness. In your face and under the hood. The most in-your-face addition to the Mac is Dashboard Widgets. They're cute. They're cuddly. They're collectable. Some are actually worthwhile. Many are worthless.

Does Steve Jobs' Famous Reality Distortion Field Have New Powers?
 Seriously. The Mac news headlines over the past few weeks, indeed, the past year, lead me to believe that Apple CEO Steve Jobs didn't have cancer last year. Aliens took him away for a month and implanted an even more powerful Reality Distortion Field emitter that's broadcasting world wide.

Apple's leader is a defacto techno rock star. Will history be kind?
 My book collection started growing again a few weeks ago. Apple Computer pulled all the books by Wiley Publications from Apple Store shelves. They're the publishers of the popular "Dummies" series.

Not enough money for a Mac mini? Try a used Mac and save.
 This must be the month for books. It all started when Apple pulled all the Wiley books (Tiger for Dummies, iCon: Steve Jobs, etc) from the Apple Store's book shelves. Used Macs. You've got one, right? Me, too. Once you buy a new Mac it becomes, almost automatically and certainly overnight, a used Mac.

Final Cut Pro and friends bring new power, ease of use to Tiger.
 Apple made media headlines a few years ago by buying a video editing suite from Macromedia. Then they bought eMagic and the famed Logic audio application. All the pieces have finally arrived in one huge (17 pounds) package in Final Cut Studio. Prepare to be impressed.
