3G iPhone is smaller, dual cameras, VoIP, works on any wireless carrier.
 Apple stunned the cell phone industry today by announcing a new 3G iPhone for $99. The new iPhone features 32 gigabytes of storage, dual video cameras, VoIP, and is available on any wireless carrier, not just AT&T.

New, smaller, faster Intel chips find a home in Apple's notebook line.
 What's the price of speed on a personal computer these days? Nobody cares. Remember when megahertz, then gigahertz determined computer performance? Those days are gone. Today's Macs are just as much screamer machines as an Windows PC.

Linux guru Linus Torvalds says so and calls OS X's file system 'utter crap.'
 In an enlightened world is there such a thing as too much free speech? Take Linux founder Linus Torvalds. Please. His latest point of view is that parts of Mac OS X are 'utter crap.' Guess what? He doesn't like Windows Vista, either. Surprised?

The secret is not in Mac software with lots of features. Think simple.
 From a rather simplistic perspective, we buy and use a Mac to get things done. The problem is multiplied by the fact that there are more things to do, and the Mac is capable of doing more things. Unfortunately, we're not.

Is Apple's stock a good buy or the best of the worst to come in 2008?
 I've said it before, so it's time to say it again about Apple's stock price. What goes up, must come down. That applies to the basic laws of gravity and certainly to the high flying stock price of our favorite Mac, iPod, iPhone maker.

The best office suite for the Mac is feature laden, with multiple versions.
 Microsoft didn't learn from Vista's crazy quilt of different versions which turns off buyers. Guess what? Microsoft's Office 2008 for Mac caught the same disease. Choose your poison. $500 to $150. Either way, you get what you pay for. Sometimes.

WiFi shows up everywhere Apple wants to be. Even backups.
 When I first heard the name of Apple's new ultra portable, I cringed. MacBook "Air?" Please. Apple, you've gone sophomoric. That's what I thought until I saw Steve Jobs' keynote presentation today. Then it struck me. It's a wireless world and Apple is moving quickly to own it.

Leopard may be easier to use, but also loosens some security features.
 Since the Leopard launch, much has been written about Mac OS X security. There's new security features inside which users will never see, but Apple simplified access and usage to Leopard's firewall, which may have actually loosened security.

No Mac Classic OS on Intel Macs, and now, no Classic on OS X Leopard.
 The end of a Mac era is upon us. The dawning of the new Golden Age of Mac™ begins. Soon. With little or no fanfare, Apple quietly put to rest the Mac we all knew and loved. Well, some of us. Mac OS Classic is dead. Long live the Mac.
