Are upgrades updates? What do you do when the update goes bad?
 Every couple of months Apple releases a new version of Mac OS X. As with Jaguar, Panther, and Tiger, the updates come five or six times a year and are mostly painless improvements to the latest OS X. Mostly. A new update is coming for OS X Leopard. Are you ready?

A MacBook Air got hacked in two minutes. Is your Mac safe?
 A friend who recently switched to a Mac asked me what kind of virus software to get, since Macs are being attacked and hacked so easily these days. Talk about misinformation. Yes, a Mac was attacked and compromised in a matter of minutes. It's not the end of the world.

 Do you want a Mac clone for $399? Apple's lowest priced Mac, the Mac mini, sells for $599 and isn't expandable. Psystar's Mac clone is an expandable mini tower that runs Mac OS X Leopard. Will Mac users buy a knockoff clone?

Why can't we all just get along? Because Apple wants to control us.
 Mac OS X Leopard will be launched soon. Mac web sites are eagerly trumpeting Apple's latest charge, even while Apple stuffs some trumpets with legal tomatoes. The Apple Paradox means they love us and hate us.

As Mac sales explode, so does market share for both OS X and Safari.
 It isn't really news that Mac market share is growing. It has been growing steadily for a few years. As Mac sales explode, market share is exploding, along with increased market share of OS X and Safari. Why is Mac as David having such success against Windows as Goliath?

 Macworld is always exciting, even when the new product announcements are disappointments. No matter what Apple does, there's always a disappointment somewhere. MacBook Air does not disappoint. Unless you think about it. It's another expensive toy from Apple. One of many.

Nothing new for Mac users on the low end, no mid-range MacPro.
 What's the perfect Mac? It depends. Apple has plenty of notebooks, a broad range of iMacs, and powerful MacPro towers and a fast server line. What about the low end Mac line? What's between the iMac and the Mac Pro?

Do we trust our Macs to do more or are we addicted to doing more?
 This week I found something else that my Mac can do for me and my mom isn't happy about it. I found software to help me manage travel itineraries and showed it to my mom. She said, "You're on that computer all the time. Are you addicted to it?"
