Adobe's AIR brings cool views of the earth in an ugly window, ugly tools.
 Sometimes we bump into solutions that are looking for a problem. One of the first utilities to use Adobe's new AIR platform looks that way. Because something common can be done a different way doesn't mean it should be done that way. After all, the road less traveled is often less traveled for a reason.

Mac utility helps cyclists and runners train better by managing activities.
 I'm always looking for Mac utilities which can help my exercise routine which consists of running and cycling. Recently, I came across Ascent, a GPS enabled utility which helps runners, cyclists, and hikers better manage their training regimen.

 FarFinder is a utility which lets you access files on your Mac with any web browser or your iPhone. Though FarFinder has to navigate some tricky and complex technology, it seems to work. The question I have to is, "Why?"

 Remember the universal translator on Star Trek? It was a microphone-like handheld device that auto translated alien languages to English. It even helped aliens to lip sync in English. Is there a next best thing for Mac users?

A consumer Photoshop with more features. Just like the Windows version.
 The Mac is a hot seller these days. Maybe that's why Adobe Software finally came out with Photoshop Elements 6 for Mac users. Maybe. The new Elements looks and feels an awful lot like the Windows version, but that's not necessarily a bad thing.

 Yes, the Mac does graphics and video. That's old news. With Leopard and ScreenFlow, your Mac makes movies of your Mac. Whatever's on the screen at the time, including you and whatever's in iSight range, can be a video production.
