Continued from Page 1…
I’ve never done an online contest before, so, let’s keep this one simple, neat, and rewarding.
I’ve placed a photograph below. It’s shows relatives enjoying shave ice at Matsumoto’s on Oahu’s North Shore (Hawaii).
You get to fill in one or two captions. More than one entry is allowed but no more than two. To enter, submit your caption by using the Feedback link at the bottom of the page (that keeps it somewhat anonymous, but I need to know your email address). Make sure to put in an accurate email address so we can contact you if you’re the winner.
What’ll you win? Read on…
If you’re not the winner, I won’t contact you (duh), but we’ll post a few entries over the weekend. Click Here to Enter via Feedback and Click Here to leave your witty balloon caption to share with other readers.
Here’s the Photograph:

One or two captions per entry. You may have two captions for a single entry (two different people talking/thinking, each with their own balloon caption. Remember, these entries should be balloon captions, not just a caption for the photograph. That makes it more fun.
The Official Rules: Only two entries per email address, please. Void where prohibited by law or anything else. If you wish, you may enter your first and last name. An accurate email address is required (or a phone number; email is better). All information you submit except the “caption” is kept confidential (I’ll delete it). In the event of a tie—the same caption entered by different people—the first caption submitted will be selected. All decisions of the judge (me) are final.
The Official Grand Prize: If your caption is selected you’ll win a bunch of things. Well, this—bragging rights. That’s worth something, don’t you think? Oh, and I’ll throw in a box of chocolate covered Macadamia nuts fresh from Hawaii (you only have to give your address if you win and I can contact you).
Other Stuff: Again, my decision on the winner is final. I will publish the top three choices (though you can still use Comments to share with others). If there’s a legal problem, well, all bets are off—hey, the chocolate’s not worth hiring a lawyer.
I’ll close the contest to entries on Noon Saturday, November 20, 2004 (or as soon as I get up on Saturday…) so hurry.
