4 Little Tweaks To Mail That Make Email Easy, Fun

FlagI’m on record taking a two-fold stand. First, email is definitely the internet’s killer application. Second, I hate email. The old sound of You’ve Got Mail was one that elicited excitement and wonder.

No more. Too much spam. Too many nonsensical messages. Too much of any kind of good thing can be bad for one’s digital health. However, email is a fact of life. It’s not going away, so it’s better to improve the email process than to die a miserable member of the Email Hater’s Club™, right?

You’re right about stationery. I used to hate it. Now I use it all the time because my email actually gets read. Text email is so 1999.

Flagit can only be used in Snow Leopard when you drop Mail back to 32-bit mode. Otherwise, it’s a nice tool.

Ditto for Mail Act-ON 2. Great. Once you use it you’ll wonder why Apple doesn’t buy it.

SpamSieve all the way. None better. Catches and disposes of 98% of all my incoming spam. It’s a must have if you get lots of email.

Mail Act-On 2.  THE BEST Mail utility, bar none.  I use this dozens of times a day, for certain.  It may even be the most useful utility of all on my Mac.

It’s not free, but after a couple of months of use, you’ll have paid for it in saved time/stress.
