Many years ago I worked for a company full of engineers; a fastidious group that took copious notes.
Spiral bound notebooks where everywhere, every meeting. From engineers to product managers, everyone had a spiral bound notebook, which, when filled, became a collection of notebooks with notes that detailed everything.
Today, for many of us, the Mac is our notebook. Here’s how to make your notebook the best notebook.
Sure, it’s easy to keep track of information on.... (excerpted).

Sounds fantastic, but how is it, please, for writing lots of original text—most importantly, many discrete entries in a personal idea book that need basic formatting (bold, ital, font size, etc.), categorizing, keyword tagging and more? Thanks for any help. (I’m a huge Mac Fan but not an advanced user.)

Yes, a thousand times yes. Notebook is perfect. Except for one thing. It can be complex. It is very easy to get started. After all, it is only a notebook on your Mac so very simple to learn.
Adding more features to your knowledge takes some time and re-organizing. Deal with it. Notebook is worth the effort. 5 stars.

One of the things I really like about most Mac software is that you can try it out first. Notebook works the same way. Download, install (drag and drop), and try it out for a few weeks. How easy is that?
Sure wish I could get my local Toyota dealer to do things the same way.
Notebook is worthy. It’s very simple to use as a notebook, outliner, catch all utility, but has far more features which can be learned over time. You get productive right away.
