If there’s software that typifies what Apple does, it’s iLife ‘08 which makes the complex seem easy. Movies. DVDs. Music. Photos. Web sites.
Web site building is made drag and drop simple with iWeb, despite a number of shortcomings which flaw the Apple’s inherent ease-of-use in iLife ‘08.
What does it take to build a web site? Millions of dollars or nearly nothing, depending on what you want the site to do, and complex (or not) you want the site to be.

Have you upgraded to the latest iLife with iWeb ‘09? Also, what browser are you using? iWeb usually looks good in Safari, not so much on a Windows PC (Internet Explorer doesn’t play nice with web page standards). However, I suspect there’s a problem in the layout. Try using a different theme, and make sure Javascript is on because iWeb (and most web sites) use plenty of Javascript to make things happen.

I noticed when I viewed the family website created on iweb that the photos dont show up when looking at the pages with a slideshow. When you click on the Play Slideshow, it brings up photo. But they are portrayed askew. I,e the top section is repeated at the bottom of the photo.
I have had the same problem with a site I created using iweb. The weird thing is that the sites display okay of you view them from a MAC. It is only when viewed via a PC/ windows platform that the problem occurs.
Any advice on this problem???

If I cant see it, using Internet Explorer on my windows PC, then a lot of other customers wont be able to see it either. The same thing happened when I viewed the site created by iweb on the above article? Did he not load it properly either. I am a bit loathe to upgrade to iweb 09, if the problem is still there. On the Apple site, all I found was an article saying that slideshows only work if the website is placed on to a .mac site. I lodged my question there, but have had no response. I am thinking of ditching the slide show which is a shame, and just pasting pictures instead. Am not a website designer whizz, so have limited knowledge on fixing it.
