Entourage 2008 Is Best Software Ever On A Mac.

EntourageEntourage 2008 may be the best software ever published for Mac users. Getting things done has never been easier or better.

It’s alright to argue with me. I’m used to it. I’m married. My husband is a Windows user. After using Entourage 2008 I’m ready to say it’s the best thing Microsoft has ever done on a Mac.

In fact, Office 2008, despite a few glitches here and there with the installer, is a polished and pleasant experience. The Home and Student version makes Office a value, even when compared to Apple’s iWork ‘08..... (excerpted).

well.. i would go to an apple shop if there was one i could get too without having to take a day off and what is the problem with making software that imports from other versions of its own, well almost own same gender.. I mean.. i have windows based office so why should i have to muck about trying to move it all..  and another thing.. this has really got me goat…
I have ok, now become quite attached to the projects part of entourage.. but how the hell do you back everything up in 1 move so that you can stick it on another machine or even, god forbid, restore it.  I run an exchange server to sort out the mail now, and ok it means i can share my mail across 2 machines, but im a blue nosed animal from the planet bop if i can figure out ow to share the projects, i mean files and all and i mean simply. yes i know it can be done b4 anyone says its easy…its not.

I really dont have the time to muck about with another Microsoft half arsed attempt at making something.  something that is potentially very good but then they just seem to have lost interest.

so how am i supposed to backup a mac? and my office.  please tell me they you are not suggestion i use Time machine and image the whole drive back and forth between 2 machines all the time.. that would be nuts

New to Mac, use Outlook all the time.  Just bought Entourage as I would like to operate more on the Mac side (I now have Parallels installed).  I need to recreate my distribution lists in Entourage but need to find a way to send my newsletter out each month to about 1500 people without having the SPAM problems.  Currently I use a PC program by Sperry Software that will send the emails out individually, automatically, in the background.  Does anyone know of a similar program that could be used with Entourage or even Mail?

Well…
I am new to osx…

Bought the full blown Offie (have to say it like that to make me feel like i have bought something special)  insalled it…
and am
totally
Underwelmed…

for a kick off.. how do you export your pst files from outlook on your pc to entourage.. ok i cheated and setup and exchange server.. yeh i know over kill but i got fed up in the end.

the callendar is nasty compared to the windows version..  not sure that i like it at all.  Yes i know i have both the windows and the mac versions.. but what is the point in having a mac if you have to run a windows ver of software that you purchase becasue the mac ver is so crippled.

on the other hand.. love the idea of having more than 1 exchange server ability.. i got 4 connected and working fine. (dont ask.. its a work related issue)

So on the whole no impressed with mac office 2008..  In fact think i just wasted a whole load of cash on it.. could have bought Sun Star Office and its alot cheaper and has just about everything this has.

I really dont see the point in entourage at all.. yes it has a nice my day doo-dad that pops up and lets you know what you got to be doing.. but its a bit of a cherry on the top of a stale bun if you ask me.

Go to the Apple Store and let them transfer your files for you. They do it for free.

Welcome to service, Apple style.

I am just starting on a mac and yet trying to weigh the pro/cons if I should [rather can] make the switch!  How do I transfer all my emails and contacts from Outlook to Entourage [different computers].  I don’t have any corporate server for email, just use gmail.
Since I have over 1800 contacts and need mail from at least Jan 08 [over 7000], this could be a MAC or PC deal.
Appreciate any help.

My wife uses Entourage (now 2008 version) and when she goes to forward an email message with images they disappear in the forwarded email message window - I take the same email on Thunderbird and have no issues with the images appearing in the forwarded email.

We have had some success with “Forward as Attachment” in Entourage… but we should not have to do this.

What can I change in Entourage so the images format properly in a forwarded email.

Thank you.

Oh, stop it, Nosha. You’re being silly. Nobody gets a ‘kickback’ on anything we review on Mac360. It doesn’t happen. Ads are ads. There’s a little (emphasis on ‘little’) revenue from ads that run on the site and that covers our server and bandwidth costs. We don’t pay ourselves anything. It’s a labor of love. We encourage readers to use the Mac360 Store (it’s really Amazon) for purchases they’d make on Amazon anyway, and we get a commission. It averages about $25 a month. Big whoop!! As most smart readers already know, the Mac360 writing team tends not to agree on all our reviews; some of us (me, Bambi) love Entourage and Office, others (Ron) don’t. Deal with it, OK?

mac360 only writes in favor of items they get a kick back on, they are all about the greed for more money.  If it means money in their pocket, they will favor a MS crappy product over a superior Mac product, what a load of shiiiit.  And what’s up with the advertisement banner, will you buy mac os x leopard from me ? ha ha ha Um No I will not byiotch.
