Apple’s transition from .Mac, a melange of sporadic services, to MobileMe begot a few casualties. My often used iCards bit the dust, bought the farm, took a walk in cement overshoes.
iCards was a good way to see free email post cards to friends and loved ones. It was easy. It was free. It’s gone forever. Or is it. Despite PostCard’s best efforts, iCards is missed.
Once every couple of weeks I would click over to iCards in Safari, grab a cute or appropriate post card, add a cute line or two, and click to send it to.... (excerpted).

I loved iCards. I miss it. PostCard is no iCards. I knew iCards, PostCard, and you’re no iCards.
I just haven’t found an acceptable substitute. Yet.

I also thought the postcard function was neat. I guess they think that the stationary feature of Mail is the replacement…
You may post your own comment on this article. Or, post in the Mac360 Forums. Either way, it's mostly anonymous, there's no obligation, and no cost. Posting comments is free, fun, low in calories, low in carbs, non-fat, mildly addictive, and may give you mild euphoria (due to the false sense of literary prowess).
Your comment may be anonymous, if you prefer. Or, use a cute name-- something everyone can remember. An email address is required only if you want to be notified of new comments by other posters, and is always shielded from email spam harvesters (but don't use a Gmail or Yahoo! or Hotmail or any free email service address-- too much spam).
Keep your comment on topic, relevant, worthy, and funny. Or, pick any three. We moderate the comments before posting so SPAM links will be deleted (Spammers-- you're a blight on society, not to mention your body odor, so don't waste your time or our time).
Please Note: Your comment will not show up immediately. We moderate all reader comments to eliminate spam, off topic posts, and silly arguments. Otherwise, don't worry, post your comment and enjoy. Your email address is never displayed.

Yes, ending iCards added insult to injury during the rough switch to MobileMe. Come on, iCards was a pretty simple webjects application that was mature and worked well. Where is that code? Somebody needs to rescue it and put it back into service.
Not close, but has all the potential is Equinux’s Stationary Pack 2.

It says it has postcards, but they are all huge full page monstrosities, so if this company learns what the size of a postcard actually is, they have a shot.
Otherwise, Apple needs to step up and include a postcard template in the next release of Apple Mail.
