Like most Mac users, I’m a reader. I have hundreds of books. I have hundreds of RSS links to web pages I read regularly.
In the quest for a more efficient use of my ever dwindling time, wouldn’t it be great to have technology help me read more in less time, yet increase my comprehension.
Mac users rejoice. iReadFast might be your reading doldrums panacea. Or, not. Read on.
iReadFast is a Mac utility which helps (or hopes) to improve your reading skills—specifically.... (excerpted).

A few clarifications:
- About the quirks: as is described in the iReadFast help, the βFβ and βATβ buttons toggle the Flickering and Advanced Timing functions which are really important to who wants to use the program as a reading aid at high speeds and not just as an exercise.
- Again, as stated in the program guide, in the first hours using iReadFast you should get accustomed with the reading method and find you gradually increasing the speed at which the program displays the text. You will can set the reading speed according to your training with the program and the complexity of the text you are going to read, in order to reach the optimal balance between speed and comprehension.
I did not create iReadFast as a tool to exercise reading (it will not teach you to read faster without it), but as an instrument for every day use, a “text player” that permits you to read faster any electronic text you may encounter during your day.
Thank you for the review.
