In an enlightened world is there such a thing as too much free speech? Take Linux founder Linus Torvalds. Please.
His latest point of view is that parts of Mac OS X are ‘utter crap.’ Guess what? He doesn’t like Windows Vista, either. Surprised?
I suppose we could toss aside Torvalds recent remarks as ‘his opinion’ and recognize that he’s the head of the Linux religion, which isn’t making much headway on the desktop against the heathen Windows and enlightened Mac OS.... (excerpted).

Apple is way over priced and there are no games for OSX. Thanks but no thanks. Unless you’re a video editor or something along those lines, there is no reason other than to be able to say “I have a mac”. I’m not ready to waste $3000 so I can join the “in crowd”

I have used both Linux and Windows Vista Ultimate and also Windows XP Pro. I’ve never used Mac OS X Leopard nor do I know anything about it. To me, Vista is way too slow. XP Pro is decent but I don’t think it even comes close to Mac OS X. Linux…well, Linux is Linux. It looks good but it may as well piss against the wind. I’ve been a PC user for many years but I’m ready to switch to a Mac. I saw an IMac with a 24” monitor and I wanted it immediately. Seeing how I’m a DAV (Vietnam) there is no way I can afford one. Maybe one of these days though.

You know you have a problem when:
The IT guy upgrading the office computers spends a long time assuring you that you will not be getting Vista, for which you and he are both glad.

I myself like both OS X and Windows Vista. Mostly because I like to work with the OS and how it looks and feels. I think many Linux user’s prefer basic function over a nice user interface. Its like some people like really nice cars and brag about horse power. Then you have people who just want a good running car even though it looks rather bland.
If you look at many of Linux critics and former users. Most would complain about two things. User interface and lack of compatibility. Two things that Mac OS X and Windows users want the most.
I think just in the last year or two has Linux developers realized that stability and security is not as important to basic users as they may have thought. After all Windows was known for being a big target for malware but still maintains a big user group. That says something for the user interface being important.

What a dumb comment.
Macs are overpriced? Compared to what? Almost any major brand Windows PC with comparable hardware costs the same. No games? Every game that runs on Windows PCs will run on a Mac. How? Macs are the only major platform that also runs Windows and Linux flavors. $3,000 to join the ‘in crowd?’ How ridiculous. Macs start at $599. Most Macs sold are less than half the $3k price tag you toss around, you mindless sponge. Wake up. It’s the 21st century already. Macs. Rule. Again.
