The buzz surrounding Apple’s iPhone drowned almost any buzz over AppleTV.
Based on what you know now, having viewed the AppleTV demonstration, having seen it in action in the Apple Store, do you plan to buy an AppleTV? If not within six months, when? If not, why not? Take the Mac360 poll below.
I do not remember the last time Apple stirred up this much noise over a product introduction. I’m surprised there’s not a 24-hour iPhone Channel on cable TV.

The poll isn’t what I was expecting.
Will I buy an Apple TV? Yes.
When?
I don’t know…sometime after this current version of the Apple TV is replaced by one that has some sort of combination of the following:
- External hard drive
- iPod dock (with play through)
- Blu-Ray Drive
- DVR
- Comcast cable card
- Open architecture (allowing the ability to add 3rd party codecs and software)
- Standard analog out ports

I bought an apple tv over a year ago, I love it. I stream movies, videos, youtube, music, and all of my tv shows that i record on my eyeTV. One of my best purchases ever, and I even bought one for my brother, parents, and gf too. I haven’t tried renting in HD with it yet, but is much cheaper than Blue Ray. Sure TIVO funcitonality would be great, but the current version is just fine. I wish my movies would show up like trailers and apple rentals in the view panel, esp to make it easier to find them, but I love my purchase and highly recommend.
