Shootout: New iPod vs. Sony Walkman

Sony’s Walkman celebrated 25 years with the introduction of the catchy-named Walkman NW-HD1, a diminutive 20-gigabyte portable music player. Sony claims it will hold 13,000 songs. Apple’s new 40 gigabyte iPod boasts storage capacity of 10,000 songs.

more than 30 years lisening music with the best sound sistems…... sony have better sound…dont worry ipod is very good too, but the sound quality is a litte bit swetter and richer with sony,....of course the aqualizer helps alot… but….im not purist…

I agree 200% with Maximus comments. when it comes to sound quality SONY is SONY…Actually I went to purchase ipod fascinated by its looks but after hearing the sound quality, I ended up purchasing SONY Walkman. Sony “nothing like else.”

I would say the most important thing that matters in any audio device is the sound quality and Ipods are no where around the amazing sound quality of Sony’s Walkman (especially with new 810 models that have clear bass and 4 clear audio technologies). Ipod is all about cool looks and Walkman is all about great sound.
