Stalkers—$10 Gets Danica Patrick On Your Mac.

DanicaAlright, so we’re deep into a world wide economic recession, right? Does that stop mad merchants from coming up with new and innovative ways to part us from our money?

Of course not. “Patrick” is one of the most Googled names on the web, whether Tera or Danica. Plenty of Mac and PC users have Tera Patrick wallpaper or desktop backgrounds. What about less-than-girly Danica?

She merits a calendar. A $10 full color calendar. Sure, Tera Patrick probably has a dozen.... (excerpted).

Printed calendars are going the way of newspapers and some other print media.  Now I like nice photography as much or more than the next guy, but how does this integrate with iCal?  That’s the product I use and its fairly good.  Its main plus is it automatically updates on my iPhone and other computers so the same calendar shows at both home, office and car.

Alexis, thanks for bringing this to my attention! Being an IRL (Indy Racing League) and Danica Patrick fan, I jumped on the calendar (for Mac) offer!

Thank heaven it was only $10! Says it covers 3 years, um, well, it does - 2007 thru 2009, ’07 is history and ’08 will be very (very) soon, so that leaves one actually usable year :(. I’m thinking at the end of ’09, there will be another $10 offer for an update to 2010? It takes up the entire screen, which is not a gooder thing on a 24-inch iMac :(. The Christmas countdown says there’s 15 days till Christmas, today is December 11th, in 15 days, it will be December 26th. I can’t help but hope the PC version is a bit more refined :\.

Had I tried a trial version, I doubt seriously I would have purchased the app - I’m chalking this one up to living and learning smile. Rest assured, I’m still an IRL, Danica Patrick, Tera Patrick and Alexis Kayhill fan smile!

Good article Alexis (again!). I love fast cars myself, my uncle used to work the circuit for funny cars. He was the clutch mechanic for the car. He worked for Gary Eolger back in the day, I am not joking. My uncle traveled the country with Gary. Now he owns his own automotive repair shop and this is just about to get sad. I forgot who the name of the driver of the funny car is (only met him in person once a few years ago at the shop) so I called my uncle up to get it (at the shop) and he told me bad news. After almost ten years of owning and operating his own business, he is right now in the process of shutting down the doors. The economy has killed his business. My uncle told me this last four months he was lucky to get two cars a month. So now I am going out to the shop tomorrow to help him pack up what he is keeping and tear down the hydraulic lifts. Sad but true and I just found this out. I think he is going to be needing a place to go now and I offered my home to him with open doors. I told him the doors are open.

Anyway I think I am going to rack up another ten bucks on my poor old credit card and check out what Danica Patrick has to offer my Mac.
