What To Expect From Apple’s “Let’s Rock” Event.

Lets Us RockApple’s special “Let’s Rock” event is hours away. What can you expect from our favorite Cupertino, CA Mac maker?

One thing is for sure. Well, maybe two things. Ok, there are three things for sure that will happen at this event. First, new iPods.

For the last three or four years Apple has updated the entire iPod line starting in September, so the first thing, and most important, is a complete refresh. That means new iPods.

That’s for sure. You can bank on it..... (excerpted).

You’ve more or less nailed down what we all feel. The difference between wants and expectations and reality. I hope you bat 1.000 on this.

I’ve been reading about how the iPod is supposed to die a slow and lingering death because of the iPhone, but Apple continues to sell a bunch every quarter. Remember, in the US, the iPhone is only available with AT&T which means customers of Verizon, Sprint, T-Mobile, and everyone else will still buy iPods.

Don’t care bout no iPods, don’t care bout no Beatles, don’t care bout no iPhone software, or iTunes, or more movies. I wants me a new line of MacBooks with lower prices.

So it boils down to this? New iPods, a Surprise, and Disappointment. Somehow I don’t think we’ll be disappointed if we get all three. No, on second thought, there WILL be disappointment. There always is. I’m not an iPhone user so I would like to see what Apple has up the gadget sleeve for new iPods.

That expresses my sentiments exactly. Most of these Apple events have one thing nearly everyone agrees will happen. In this case, it’s a new line up of iPods, hopefully with lower prices.

The rest of the time it’s a battle to separate my wants from my expectations. Apple gives and Apple takes away.

I care less about a new version of iTunes than getting an aluminum MacBook in the shape of a MacBook Air.
