Adding the store to Mac360 brought up some interesting questions among the Mac360 staff.
Where do you shop for Apple toys? Is it always Apple online, or Amazon, or what?
As that discussion theme bounced back and forth among Mac360 staffers, one thing became clear.
We shop all over the place. Yes, all of us have purchased from Amazon, and the Apple Store.
Bambi travels and shops at stores rather than online. Kate loves Apple’s new store in New York.
The common stores among the staff are segregated into two categories.
The first is the Apple Store for Apple branded products. The second is Amazon for everything else.
Then, we all have our favorite online stores as listed above.
In our Top 5 Stores, not one store was a brick and mortar retail store, except for nearby Apple Stores.
Among physical retail outlets where we’ve purchased (not including the Apple Store), Ron liked Fry’s (when traveling) and CompUSA.
Jack and Carol echoed with CompUSA, as did Natalia and Alexis, though all live near a retail store.
Bambi said she doesn’t like retail shopping, but has a few favorites in different cities (frankly, at her height I think she draws a crowd).
That brings up the same question, this time aimed at Mac360 readers:
Where do you shop for your new Apple toys (including hardware and software not sold by Apple)?
At the Apple Store online, or a nearby Apple Store? Do you prefer mail order locations such as MacConnection, CDW, Amazon?
What’s your favorite retail or online buying location? How much more have you been buying online in the past few years vs. years before?
How do Apple’s retail stores compare to other retail outlets that may not specialize in Apple products, say CompUSA, Fry’s or others?
What’s been your worst online purchasing experience and why? What’s been your best experience?
