Sometimes, things we need to do seem so simple, yet become so complicated. How about this. You need to print out a bunch of forms and each form needs a sequential number.
How do you do that on your Mac? Try this. You need to print serial numbers on tickets for a school function. On a Mac. See the problem? Simple task. Not so simple solution. However, easy numbering can be done with Easy Numbering.
It’s A Numbers Game
Our school has a printer. A person. Not the device you attach to a Mac or PC. Most of the school’s heavy duty printing needs come from a couple of monstrous Xerox machines.
The rest come from a hoard of printers connected to Macs, PCs, and various school networks.
Unbeknownst to me, the school’s Mac system administrator, and Mac app diva, our printer (the person, not the ink jet type) found a Mac app that does sequential numbering.
It’s called Easy Numbering and that’s basically what it does. It prints numbers on paper in printers (the ink jet type).
Easy Numbering is a one trick pony, perfect for small printing runs of forms that need numbers. Ditto for tickets, invoices, receipts, certificates, or whatever you have that needs numbers printed on a document.
The user interface is anything but friendly, and takes awhile to master, but it puts out a series of numbers in a precise location on a page.
Numbers can be placed on the page exactly where you want them.
Each page can have multiple numbers (handy for printing multiple tickets on a single page). Numbers can be rotated—horizontal, vertical, and so on. Numbers can also be created in multiple text sizes and colors.
You can start the number printing with a Starting Number, set an Ending Number, and provide specific increments between numbers.
The page size is adjustable to accommodate multiple sizes of paper.
Easy Numbering is a Mac app that’s not for everyone. If you don’t have a need for sequential numbers or serial numbers to be printed on document pages, tickets, invoices, certificates, or forms, you won’t need Easy Numbering.
For organizations that require small runs of sequential or serial numbers, Easy Numbering is the little app that can. It’s not simple, but it’s precise and puts the numbers you want, right where you want them.
