You know where the digital generation has let us down? Fewer Christmas and holiday cards with family photos. Now we get those holiday photos by email.
Your Mac’s Mail app makes it easy to send attractive family or personal photos to friends and relatives. Here’s something even better. A photo collage maker for your Mac. Drag and drop to create stunning, eye-catching photos to send with a click.
Channeling Your Inner Creative Child
Jalada Collage is the Mac app that lets you become the creative genius you always knew you could be. Point and click. Drag and drop. What you end up with is stunning and ultimately usable and sharable.
You provide the photos. Mix in a little taste (if you don’t have it, fake it—the end result still looks nice).
Collage adds frames, borders, and clip art. Your photos are used to create collages, posters, wallpapers, calendars, invitations, holiday cards, and more.
Start with a template, then drag and drop your iPhoto photos into position on the screen.
Collage provides a bunch of useful templates for every basic occasion. There’s also options for posters, wallpaper for your Mac or PC (in collage form)—even a calendar.
So far, so good, right?
The Collage app comes with more options but the set up is as simple as it gets. Select a template. Drop in photos. Tweak. Share (print, save as PDF to send, etc.).
Each template can be tweaked, too.
Drop in other design elements, add text, change the whole design around to match your taste (or lack of).
The Toolbar is a little cluttered (Collage is one of those apps that runs on both Mac and Windows PC, hence the drift toward a cluttered interface) but easy enough to understand.
What I found most useful is the calendar maker. It starts with a bunch of calendar templates.
Change the titles, weekdays, language, and layouts. Drop in your own photos and print and you’ve got a wonderful holiday gift. A personalized calendar with photos of you, your friends, family members of relatives whose photos often hang out in US Post Office or FBI Most Wanted List.
Jalada Collage automates the layout so you don’t have to bring much to the table other than photos and drag and drop. It’s also another way to share your life with others—either because they want to know how you’re doing, or because you know they’ll be annoyed by a greeting card with your photo.
See? It’s the perfect gift making tool.
