One of the telltale signs of adulthood is the apparent loss of gray matter.
I’m of the opinion that brain cells are fleeing my head for parts unknown. Maybe they’re just being washing away in the shampoo rinse. Maybe when I blow my nose they escape by Kleenix. Whatever it is, my remaining brain cells need to work harder. I can train them better with a Brain app.
How To Improve Brain Functions
What it does is give adults a way to flex the fraying gray matter with a whole bunch of math and card exercises that are guaranteed to increase your IQ by about 40 points. Alright, maybe not 40. OK, maybe there’s no actual guarantee.
The point is, after a week of using Brain App on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad, you’ll feel more mentally alert. Why?
The games and exercises are fun. That makes them addictive. An addiction takes up time. Lost time means you have to scramble to get things done. All that scrambling after playing Brain App gets the blood circulating through to your remaining brain cells, increases adrenaline, and all that combines to make you feel smarter.
Anyway, that’s my theory and I’m sticking to it.
5 Ways To Better Brain Cells
Without using any chemistry or performance enhancing pharmaceuticals, Brain App gives you five ways to improve your brain, which improves memory and response, which gives you super powers (or, so it seems after two Starbucks double shots.
Color Chaos: Mac users will alone get this function. Colored words hit the screen. You hit the color that matches the words. Match color, not word. That makes it tricky. I still can’t hit level five.
Missing Signs: You get two numbers and an answer and have to figure out if the numbers were added, subtracted or multiplied. There’s a time limit and it’s not as easy as you think.
Card Count: Mac and iDevice users have to total the value of the cards onscreen. Cards are easy, right? But you have to figure out what Jacks, Kings, and Queens are worth.
Balloon Burst: My favorite. Pop the numbered balloons from lowest to highest. Do it in the right order, you get points. Do it in the wrong order and you lose points.
Speed Math: It’s math so it’s tougher for us right brained folks. Solve an equation, get points. Make a mistake, lose points.
Three modes and a maximum of 60 seconds. I still owe my iPhone points, but me and the Mac are about at break even.
Brain App is totally sophomoric. And totally fun. Plus that addictive thing, hence the need to scramble around to make up for lost time, hence the adrenaline kicking in (the Starbucks doubleshot helps your score), hence the impression that your brain is somehow improved.
Fun. Cheap. Exhilarating. Mac or iPhone or iPad. What else could you ask for? There’s even a way to compare your brain against other brains in an online ranking. Must. Have. Doubleshot.
