If there’s one thing we learn rather quickly in adulthood, it’s that we can’t change the world. At least, not too much.
We can fantasize. We can dream. We can leave our world of drab drudgery and boring days to help someone somewhere else. Alright, it’s a game. A game where Mac users help Plobb! escape from a dungeon, albeit a very colorful, child-like dungeon.
Dream On, Dungeon Dweller
Hard core Mac and PC gamers have their world of dark and dingy danger, but the rest of us have a job, mortgage or rent, and mouths to feed. Some of those mouths also play Mac games.
Plobb! is a cute little critter who needs help to escape from a dungeon (don’t we all?).
It’s really simple. Help Plobb! escape from the bottom of the dungeon and you can feel good about yourself for the rest of the day. Simple? Yes. It’s just not so easy.
My five-year-old had Plobb! out in no time. I kept running into obstacles.
The graphics are candy-like, perfect for pre-schoolers (of which I have three) and adult mommies whose minds turn to child-infested mush by 1:30 in the afternoon.
For some reason I had trouble mastering Plobb!
Maybe it was the thought of the Evil Motts of Psodor torturing Plobb! How do you explain torture to a four-year-old?
Sure, they know how, and sometimes they turn on their parents…
I digress. Whatever it is, Evil Motts has evil thoughts and that saps the mojo of little Plobb!, hence the need for someone to rescue him from the depths of the dungeon. Plobb! is cute, colorful, almost friendly, and free.
My favorite Mac kid’s game is Pee Monkey Plant Bloom: The Funnest Mac Game Ever. Yes, it involves monkeys. And peeing. Or, go retro and insert some education into child’s play and Teach Your Kids To Spell The Old Fashioned Way.
