The Mac has long since gone past the love affair with those in the creative professions.
If you’re hip, chic, cool, loving, intelligent, and an all around decent human being, then you’re a Mac owner, of course. As a long time Mac owner I have a creative bone somewhere in my body, but I’m not sure just where.
So, I look for Mac apps that help me be creative while I do real work. Ahem.
A Masterpiece? Or, A Mousterpiece?
Photoshop users may create graphic masterpieces but look at all the time and effort it takes just to make something that may or may not be creative.
There’s the expense of Photoshop, an expensive Mac, 10,000 hours of training to achieve proficiency, and four years of new media design in college, and so on.
I can generate the same level of obviously creative and artistic graphic designs on my Mac while I’m doing something else, like whipping off an email, or writing a report, or working on a spreadsheet– you know; real work.
All it takes is the little Mac app affectionately known among graphic professional wannabes as Mousterpiece. Not Masterpiece. Mousterpiece.
If you’re rather certain there’s no creative bone anywhere in your body, but you want to prove to the world you can be creative, then Mousterpiece is the app for you.
It’s astoundingly creative. Mousterpiece runs in the background and creates unique graphic designs based upon what you’re doing on the Mac. Clicks, drags, scrolls, whatever. All that movement is translated into a one-of-a-kind graphic design.
As you move the mouse in a different Mac app, Mousterpiece monitors the movements and translates them to a graphic design window, so every creative piece is unique.
While you’re productive on real work, your Mac helps you be creative with graphic designs, too.
The live preview windows displays the progress of your Mousterpiece masterpiece.
Choose from four different drawing styles and customizable color options for foreground and background.
Mousterpiece isn’t just for the mouse. It also tracks your trackpad movements and translates them to creative lines and shapes, too.
Each graphic design can be saved as a standard .PNG file for use in other Mac graphic apps. The dimensions also scale up to the size of the Mac’s screen, so you can make your own custom desktop background images.
Mousterpiece is a one of a kind creative tool for the non-creative Mac user. For just a few dollars you’ll be creating graphic designs that can easily compete with an elephant holding a paint brush in his trunk, or a donkey dipping his tail into a paint can.
