There’s one thing I know about my Mac that they don’t. There’s stuff going on inside the Mac that we don’t know about.
We all assume that, of course, but I’m the cat that curiosity uses as a poster child. Call me Ms. Snoopy, but I like to know what’s going in within the hallowed aluminum-clad walls of my Mac. All it takes to get me interested is a little Mac glitter.
Your Mac Pulses With Activity Inside
What’s going on inside your Mac? And, do you really care? Even better, do you really want to know? And, even if you knew what was going on, could you do anything about it?
Probably not, but the exercise in information gathering is fun, and that’s mostly what iPulse is all about.
This is a Mac system monitoring app. It checks on a variety of things inside your Mac, including CPU usage, memory usage, how much space is left on your hard disk drive, and which apps are using the network– that kind of thing.
iPulse doesn’t give you much information that you can’t figure out on your own, or find a couple of free apps that display the same kind of information, but glitter comes with a price.
iPulse lets you see some of what’s working in the Mac through the Desktop, the Dock, and even in the Mac’s Menubar.
Memory, storage, system load, temperature of this or that, battery information, and which apps are sucking down the bandwidth on your internet connection.
All those pieces are pieced together in a visually glitterati-like interface. Glitter?
iPulse comes with jackets for any occasion. Think of them as Desktop themes. Choose from something high tech to something kitty cat-like, or pull down other themes from the iPulse Jacket Gallery online.
Glitter is contagious. So is meekness, it would seem. And iPulse Preferences will make a geeky Mac user glow at night.
Preferences abound for every function in iPulse, ranging from CPU and Memory to Network, Clock, and Disk (and they’re all color coded for the Glitter Grrl in you).
iPulse is fun to use and gives you warm and fuzzy comfort knowing that you Mac is being checked on like a highly paid and responsible teenage babysitter.
The only negative is that all the glitter comes with a price tag.
