What if you want really good quality photos? Toss Apple’s camera app into an obscure folder and use Camera + instead. It’s the best 99-cent camera your iPhone will ever have.
A Camera App For Photographers
When it comes to your iPhone what you want are better photos. Camera + brings a laundry list of extra features and functions that Apple left out.
There’s touch exposure and focus (use a second finger to adjust exposure while focusing).
Camera + has a built-in stabilizer, a grid to align scenes, a 6x digital zoom, and selective framing.
Photos can be square, 4×6, 8×10, or other frame sizes. Speaking of frames, Camera + has a number of built-in frame border designs to set your photos apart of the riffraff.
Also handy is the special Share option which lets you upload photos to Facebook Twitter, and Flickr– all at the same time.
Instead of buying a separate app for photo filters and effects, Camera + comes with plenty of built-in effects.
Camera + syncs photos from the built-in Lightbox to Apple’s iCloud.
My favorite filter is the Clarity filter which seems to sharpen and enhance photos like a crisp Kodachrome. It also features 16 different scene modes so you get the best photo with an extra touch.
ISO settings are extended to 3200, up from 800 in the previous version, so your iPhone will work better in low light.
Unfortunately, there’s no built-in panorama capability like that found in the iPhone’s camera app, so keep it handy if panorama shots are your thing. It’s amazing that Camera + is only 99-cents.
