We visit a site. We add a bookmark because the site appears interesting. We never come back to the site. Rinse and repeat over and over. Is there a better way to manage bookmarks. No, but there’s a different way.
Stuff Bookmarks In A Box
Little Bookmark Box is a simple add on Mac app that stores and manages browser bookmarks in a pop up window app on your Mac’s screen.
It automatically groups bookmarks but you control the number and name of the boxes which store the bookmarks.
Bookmarks can be organized, tagged, sorted, searched, filters, and ignored.
The app is smart enough to import bookmarks from your browser and export lists of bookmarks.
Little Bookmark Box gives you options not found in most browsers, including adding notes, date created, date last visited, and more. It even remembers which browser you want to open which bookmark.
Bookmarks can be dragged and dropped from one box to another. Smart boxes can hold specific bookmarks from a criteria search.
All in all, Little Bookmark Box gives you a good alternative to managing hundreds or thousands of bookmarks.
There’s a browser extension and bookmarklet available which makes it easy to click a link and have the URL saved into Little Bookmark Box.
Clearly, this is not an app for the masses. If you have dozens or even a few hundred browser bookmarks, you may find the effort to manage bookmarks the Little Bookmark Box way to be extra work with little upside.
However, if you’re a Mac user with thousands of bookmarks and managing them drives you nuts, a little peace of mind and extra time comes by using Little Bookmark Box.
Unfortunately, the app is priced like a professional app, is available on the Mac App Store, though there is a trial-before-you-buy option.
