The latest Mac app to grace my Mac is a romantic app. Well, actually, it’s an app that turns rather pedestrian photos into romantic masterpieces. It’s inexpensive, but hardly a one-trick pony app.
Romance For The Masses
The only real problem I have with point-and-shoot cameras, and I put my iPhone’s camera in the same category, is photos all tend to look the same.
So how does a Mac-owning, iPhoto-using, flash-avoiding semi-literate photographer wannabe create a visual masterpiece from the typical crowd of photos in my iPhoto collection?
Yes, there’s an app for that. But Romantic Photo is no one-trick wonder pony.
Instead of taking a good photo with your camera, take any photograph and turn it into a clever, attractive, almost professional looking photo.
Romantic Photo comes with over 30 photography effects filters that instantly transform a modest photo which would easily be forgotten, into, well, art.
A great deal of what makes up a good photo enhancement app is the variety of preset filters and effects.
Check out the before and after examples.
Grab a different set of filters and apply it to a different photo, then crop to effect.
Your results may vary, of course, but you get the idea.
Romantic Photo combines those photographic effects filters in a way that enhances a typical photo in new ways.
Trial and error is your friend, though. While it doesn’t take much to create a unique look from a pedestrian photo, most of the filters in Romantic Photo are of the romantic genre.
That’s not a bad thing, of course. Some photos will work better and the effects will deliver better results.
Other photos, even those using the exact same filter, will not be so awe inspiring. Still, for a few dollars, Romantic Photo gives you another tool to improve your photography without the expense of a new camera.
