What would Reminders be if it had some digital muscles? There’s an app that does what Reminders does and does more and it’s priced the same.
NotifyMe, Baby, One More Time
Reminders can be a beautiful thing, especially when you’re reminded to do something important even though you forgot. Reminders is that good and easy to use.
There is one funny aspect of using Reminders. If we schedule a reminder it sometimes issues an alert on all our Apple devices at the same time.
If you want your own, personal Reminder-like reminders app, check out NotifyMe while it’s still free.
Like Apple’s app, NotifyMe makes it easy to create a reminder, sync it to the cloud so it’s available on other devices.
What’s different is multi-user capability, custom categories of reminders, pre-notification notifications, auto-snoozing, and more sound alerts.
Set a reminder and the notification pops up on the screen (or, on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, if you have all three).
You’ll need to setup a user account for automatic cloud syncing of your reminders, but that means your reminders go where you go.
The extra notification sounds are handy and set NotifyMe apart from Reminders and the standard sounds.
You’ll also like the repeating patterns of reminders, which give you every x-th day, week, month or year, or days of week, or every X-th weekday of month.
Privacy can be set using a password, and there’s even a web app to use (also synced) in case you’re traveling and not using iPhone or or Mac or iPad.
Free? There’s a gotcha. If you want to notify from one device to another there’s an extra charge. It’s not expensive, but finding out later is annoying. Apple really needs to make these in-app purchase options more visible.
