Through the years I’ve collected and used dozens of Mac photo enhancement apps. I’ve got apps that sharpen, saturate, and colorize. There are apps that crop, remove red eye, and make photos look better than they actually are. My latest find is absolutely the coolest, most useful, funnest Mac photo enhancing app yet.
Words don’t do it justice. You have to see it in action yourself.
Click To Enhance, Click To Erase
Mac photo enhancing apps that sharpen and colorize and saturate colors are a dime a dozen. Even iPhoto makes it easy to improve a basic photo.
What iPhoto and most other digital photo enhancing apps simply cannot do is easily erase something in a photo that you don’t want in the photo.
Got a nice shot of the kids but the neighbor’s dog is also in the photo? Snapheal is the app that makes the unwanted go away.
Got a telephone pole in the middle of photo of your house? Make it go away with a simple erase.
There’s a flower pot resting on top of aunt Nelly’s head? Snapheal erases it in an instant. The flower pot, not the head.
Snapheal does more than just erase unwanted objects from a photo. It retouches, adjusts color, crops, clones and stamps, and rotates and flips. Big whoop. What you’ll use it for is erasing objects in photos that you don’t want in the photo.
Here’s the interface. Click or drag and drop to add a photo. Click the tools tabs on the right to switch to other tools.
I’ve included a photo of a somewhat cluttered beach in Hawaii. Notice all the kids on the beach, the concrete docking weights, the palm tree stumps. It’s a cluttered, messy, boring beach. Here’s what happens with a few seconds of Snapheal.
The image on the left is the original. The image on the right is enhanced using Snapheal’s Erase tool and Retouch tool. Total time to clean up the photo, less than 60-seconds (click the images above for a larger, pop up view).
Gone are the kids, the concrete, the stumps, and even the dull, overcast color of sky and sand.
Snapheal’s Erase tool is the gem. It’s fast and easy and fun to use. Undo brings back objects you erase by accident. It is as fast and simple as any graphic feature you’ve ever used.
This is an encore review of one of our favorite Mac applications.
