With the right app, those photos can be turned into artistic designs; colorful masterpieces brought to life with a clever array of magical digital brushes. And it all starts for free.
Repaint Pix With Repix
One of the side effects of using an iPhone as the main camera of choice (it’s always in my pocket, wherever I go) is the vast collection of photo enhancement apps.
The national debt is growing. My waistline is growing. And so grows my collection of iPhone apps to enhance, color, and paint photos.
One of the best starts with the price tag of free. It’s called Repix, and what it does is take your boring photos and turn them into paintings.
Or, rather, photos that resemble artistic paintings by using handcrafted digital brushes to actually remix your photos right on the iPhone’s screen.
Repix uses a unique set of brushes and your finger so you can edit any part of the photo. Your finger is the brush.
And, yes, a picture is worth a thousand words. Or, at least a few hundred.
All you need to do to get started is select a brush from the bottom of the screen, and then use your finger to paint or brush the effects into your photo.
Choose from photos in your iPhone’s Photo Library camera roll or import direct from Facebook.
Repix comes with tools you know and love, including crop, erase, undo, or just start again.
Select a brush and begin editing the photo and turn it into a painting image by just using your fingertip.
Yes, Repix also shares and photos can be uploaded to Tumblr, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
What’s the downside? Repix is free and comes with a few brushes to get you started. But there’s a price tag for additional brushes by using the in-app purchase option.
That said, the add-on brushes are not expensive and give you many, many additional painting styles to turn even ordinary photos into sharable creative masterpieces.
